Right off the bat, it's annoying that the largest caption on the cover is the name of someone who had absolutely nothing to do with the book at all.

I do think it's a fun continuation, and it does try to stick to the original narrative structure as well. However, it felt a little too much 'out there' for my liking. I dunno. It was fun, and maybe a little more "dynamic" than the Andromeda Strain, but I still liked it less.

But it definitely wasn't bad - if you're wondering whether or not to read it, I'd say go for it. Just temper your expectations.
